Veronica Meister
Veronica embarked on her land surveying journey at Exton and Dodge Land Surveying, where she started as a summer student. Following the completion of her Bachelor’s Degree at BCIT, she gained valuable experience working in Northern BC before returning to her hometown of Williams Lake. Under the guidance of Doug Dodge, Veronica achieved her commission as a BC Land Surveyor in 2016. Two years later, she assumed a partnership role within the company, and in 2019, she proudly attained the title of Canada Land Surveyor. Currently, Veronica serves on the ABCLS Practice Advisory Panel and the ACLS Practice Review Committee. She now holds the position of Managing Partner at Exton and Dodge, where she specializes in rural and complex boundary surveys in the interior and central coast regions of British Columbia.
Doug Dodge
Doug earned his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Simon Fraser University before shifting his focus to land surveying at BCIT. There, he completed the Survey Technology program in 1973. Commissioned as a BC Land Surveyor in 1976 and a Canada Land Surveyor in 1982, Doug’s expertise has been pivotal as a principal partner at Exton and Dodge from 1977 to 2021.
His dedication extends beyond the firm, contributing significantly to the profession through various roles:
• Board of Management for the ABCLS, including a term as president in 2002.
• Member of the ACLS Practice Review Committee from 2005-2017
• Participation in the Focus Group deliberating changes to the National Standards for the Survey of Canada Lands
• Membership on the ACLS council form 2017-2019
• Currently serving as a special examiner for the ACLS P1 examination
Doug’s exceptional service has been recognized with Life Membership to the ABCLS in 2015 and prestigious awards such as the David Thompson Nation Geomatics Award and the G.S. Andrew Award. Despite retirement from the firm, Doug remains an invaluable resource, generously sharing his wealth of knowledge, particularly on complex boundary and First Nation projects.
